How do facilities around the world build MRI shielding systems that are strong enough to permanently hold all RF shielding in place, yet flexible enough to be fully modular?

Our Modular Galvanized Panel System is made of galvanized steel laminated Made of rigid panels. To ensure an impenetrable RF seal, we continuously assemble the panels in “flat” and “corner recess” configurations, followed by floor isolation and RF attenuation tests. EMARART also proves its strength in the selection of field options and accessories for uncompromised customization.

Features and Highlights

Versatility In addition to RF shielding, Galvanized panels provide some 50/60hz EMI shielding.

Durability: Sturdy panel construction not easily damaged in on-site construction

Time-Saving: Floor Fast on-site panel installation including protection

Modularity: The panel system is easily disassembled and reassembled.

Testing: Meets all MRI vendor specifications.

Warranty: All of our products are made with the assurance of Emarart.

Uses

– Radio Frequency (RF) shielding for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines

– RF shielding for data/audio security, laboratories, and test rooms

Components

RF Shield Panels: Modular, rigid panels consisting of 3/4″ composition sheet laminated on both sides, galvanized steel.

Panel Joining System: Constructed to hold RF shield panels securely in place, continuous 1/ 8″ thick galvanized steel hat and flat and corner recessed frame shapes.

Walls: Consists of modular RF shield panels with the following additions:

Penetration Panel: A standard RF panel will be modified at the time of magnet delivery to accept the MRI vendor-supplied penetration panel. This includes a test plate and ground rod.

Magnet Forwarding Access Panel: A removable section in the shield will be provided to allow entry or exit of the MRI magnet.

Floor: Consists of the modular RF panels described above with the following modifications:

Base: Consists of vapor-retardant polyethylene sheet and backing material.

Magnet Supports / Anchors: Installed to Equipment Vendor specifications.

Cable Trays / Raceways: Lined with 12-ounce copper and electrically contiguous with floor panels. In some cases, the MRI equipment vendor requires the use of copper ground directly below the magnet. RF panels will be 12 ounces laminated. The MRI equipment uses copper conforming to vendor specifications.

Ceiling: Consists of modular RF panels described above with the following modifications:

Ceiling Supports: Dielectric vertical suspensions are attached to superstructures such as bar beams, concrete slabs, trusses, or beams, and then The RF shield is attached to the ceiling panels. Dielectric hangers are typically mounted on a four-legged grid pattern and installed on-site

Optional / Additional Components:

– Magnetic Shield: M36 Silicon Steel

– Patient vision windows

– Penetration protection

– EMI rated power line and signal electrical filters

– Magnetic shield calculations and modeling

– Inner lining
